Online classes
THE EXPERIENCE OF ONLINE SCHOOL
The world has stopped because of the new coronavirus known as COVID-19, this pandemic has touched almost every single country in the world, in consequence, schools have closed until further notice, and students are now taking online classes.
In this new segment of our blog, we decided to interview some students and a teacher to ask them about this new experience we are all living in.
First, we will see the opinion about one of the teachers in the L.I.I career, enjoy!
To begin with, all the schools are closed due to the pandemic of COVID-19, for this reason, most of the teachers have had to give online classes these days. Which it has been such a challenge as well as a teacher as students.
Moreover, even the online classes are going well for the students, according to one of the teachers, these classes have been comfortable for her and the students are improving more now.
It is worth mentioning that not everything has been easy, as in every situation; there are problems, for example, lack of internet connection, computer and in some cases cell phone. Consequently, some students cannot deliver their assignments on time.
However, this is not an impediment to follow with the classes, the teachers are always trying to keep on trace the learning process to the students in different ways.
One of the main advantages is that the students are at home, and that is meaningful for them, thus they have received so much support from their parents at the same they feel confident.
To conclude, classes online has been interesting and effective, but have hit different for everybody, as every circumstance, there might be an issue, but with a good problem solving and motivation, the classes can be of quality and successful.
As we can see these days during quarantine have been really
stressful for everyone, not only for teachers but also for students who are
taking their classes online. Because having to assist in classroom classes is
one thing, but to do everything online is something that is in a way different
and difficult for some students.
The members of the Period Magazine Blog have asked two
LII students from different grades a few questions about how they feel about
this whole situation and this is what they expressed about it.
A question they were asked was “Do you think online classes are really useful for students?” Both students
expressed negative answers. There are many reasons why many students find
online classes useless; one reason a student mentioned was that sometimes their professor uploads an assignment without a previous explanation, making it
difficult for them to understand it correctly, therefore they cannot complete
it properly.
Another question they were asked was “Are you really learning while doing online
tasks?” The answers were different for this question. One student stated
that they are not learning as much as they did with classroom classes, declaring
that it is because they have a learning style that does not match the way
online classes are being given. Since every student is different, each one of
them has a different style of learning, making it difficult for those whose
learning style is not the solitary (interpersonal). The other student stated
that they were capable of learning certain things with the online classes
because their professor took the time to explain very well and step by step the
lesson they were learning. After interviewing these two students, we were able to see things from different perspectives. In this interview, we realized that a numerous amount of students thinks that taking online classes can be a very stressful task, given the current situation we are living right now.
In conclusion, teachers are struggling with the use of
technology as a manner to teach their respective subjects, but they are trying to do their best for students to learn and many students
believe that online classes are not a good idea because they feel that they are
not learning at all. They also think that it is very stressful for them since they
get assigned a lot of homework from different professors at the same time and are
given short-time due dates, making it difficult for them to do well in each one of the assignments. In our own opinion, we just expect this situation does
not last long and we hope we see each other in the classroom learning as
usual.
In the name of our team, we thank you for taking the time to read and support us and we hope everyone stays safe and at HOME.

Till the next time
